New Fan Fiction Idea #28
I'd like to toy with this, but I know it will fall short of the state of inspiration I had for Phoenix Wright: Ace Tribute.
Working Title: Tributes and Tribulations
Fandom: Phoenix Wright (Ace Attorney)/Hunger Games crossover
Genre Tags: Suspense/(I never know what to tag Hunger Games stories)
Length: Multichapter
Protagonist: Viola Cadaverini (15 years old, District 9).
Other Main Character: Furio Tigre (18 years old, District 9).
Antagonists: The other tributes, taken mostly from Trials and Tribulations and aged appropriately. Includes Ron DeLite, Desiree DeLite, Luke Atmey, a Hawthorne or two, Terry Fawles, Glen Elg and Lisa Basil (most certainly District 3), Shelly de Killer, and Adrian Andrews.
Setting: An early Games, in the vicinity of the 15th. The arena is mostly beach- and island-like.
Plot: There are certain... problems in District 9 we need to take care of, as you know well. What would you believe to be the best place to strike?
If I'm not mistaken, two vital pieces seem to be eligible for the Games...
Do you mean... rigging the reapings, sir?
Something of the sort. And there are a few in other districts whom we may want to take care of as well...

New Fiction Idea #34
This was an idea from some time ago, when I was wondering if I could basically write more Hunger Games fan fiction without it actually being the Hunger Games. Better title suggestions are welcome.
Working Title: Tournament of the World
Genre: Horror/Sci-Fi
Protagonist: Corey, a 17-year-old Canadian and one of Region 4's randomly-chosen athletes for the year. He's not actually particularly athletic, although he does pride himself on being a very good swimmer. His hair is a medium brown and kept short. His eyebrows have a solid look to them. He's a bit of a people-pleaser, although he can loose his cool if someone's a bit too irritating.
Other Main Characters: Pierce, a 21-year-old American and another of Region 4's athletes. He's a star wrestler on his university team and looks the part. Reasonably handsome, he has blue eyes and dark, cropped hair. He's more annoying than kind verbally, but he's not opposed to helping people out every once in a while.
Aiko (愛子), an 18-year-old Japanese (Region 3). She's quite small and not much of an actual athlete, although she's determined. She's also quite the doormat about anything she's not so devoted to.
"Rin" (Екатерина), an 18-year-old Russian and athlete from Region 17. Slender but toned, she's tall and keeps her dark hair in a low ponytail. She's fierce and not very friendly, although she's a team player when she sees strength in numbers.
Antagonists: The other athletes in the 16-23 bracket, as well as those in other age groups if the protagonists get that far. More trouble will usually come from within their group and the elements.
Setting: Future Earth, with a much-too-large population that has already started many wars just to reduce itself. The council of civilised nations has condemned such activities but opened up a life-or-death international competition. Nations compete to host as they would the Olympics, but the competition is once a year. The world is divided into regions for the purpose of the competition, and a certain proportion of "athletes" of reproductive age are randomly chosen (although some nations send out a suspiciously high proportion of actual athletes) from each region. Each competitive bracket is thrown into a vast arena with each other until few (or, in the final competition, one) remain alive. Competitors are given a meal and a pack of supplies before each round and helped no more. Around-the-clock footage is provided so regions can cheer for their athletes, although the cheering is more often by country.
Plot: Corey and company struggle to stay alive, particularly in the way of food, in the outdoor arena. They also struggle to stay together when certain revelations (say, Corey having a real-life girlfriend despite keeping up an online relationship with an anonymous young woman who may also be in the competition) come to light.

New Fan Fiction Idea #14
I seem to be attracted to lighthearted fandoms, only to inevitably write fan fiction where all of the characters are killed brutally. Ah, well. It happens.
Working Title: Never-Ending Girls' Alliance
Fandom: Hunger Games/K-ON! crossover
Genre Tags: Horror/Tragedy
Length: Short multichapter (probably six chapters)
Protagonist: None specifically.
Other Main Characters: Yui, Ritsu, Mio, Tsumugi, and Azusa. Due to being the same gender, they will all have to be from different districts. I'm keeping the Japanese names to keep track of them more easily.
Antagonist: Various original characters, Careers or otherwise.
Plot: The main characters are reaped; all but Azusa (who joins mid-Games) form an alliance and go in together. The actual story consists of a short introduction and one chapter for each member who dies (and possibly one for the Victor, if it's one of them).
Setting: The 59th annual Hunger Games, held in a school-like arena (without roofs).
Point of View: Third person, omniscient.
I thought trying to pare everything down into a few clips would be interesting, as opposed to doing a whole novel. I'm not overly inspired for this, so I don't want to spend too much time with it, although I do want to experiment.

Plot: A Hunger Games, from reapings to final kill, plus an epilogue. It's going to be one of the earlier Games.
Setting: A large, polygonal arena. It is split down the middle by a river (with a few rickety wooden bridges); on one side is ground, the other a wooden jungle-gym of sorts. The wooden part inclines, with the river side being the lowest and the edge of the arena being the highest. The section is split into nine rectangles (as in an octothorpe) with each rectangle containing a different type of wood. The other side of the arena is flat ground, rather muddy, for a stretch but eventually leads to a three-storey sort of loft area. Also wooden, the area starts with a ground layer with decent barriers and, through a single ladder, leads up to two more levels, each less stable than the last. Various mutts, edible and otherwise plants, and traps dot the arena. The Cornucopia is just to the ground side of the river.
Point of View: First-person, switching between each of the 24 tributes as appropriate.
I'm really looking forward to this one, although my cast list is incomplete, and I'll have to read more Shakespeare to fill it out. A reread of Macbeth could be nice, too. I still need to come up with surnames for a lot of the characters.
